Day 1: Southern CSOs’ perspectives on localization, domestic resources mobilization and Shift the Power
This session will expose participants to key findings from the research on ‘Localisation Agenda, Shift the Power and African philanthropic Models’. It will create a platform for thought leaders on localization and shift the power agendas to share their knowledge and experiences with participants in view of building a broad-based understanding of these concepts and their implications on the development and humanitarian sectors.

Day 2: Innovative community philanthropy and giving practices: Cases from Ghana, Somalia, Sierra Leone & Nigeria
This session would be for panelists to showcase some of the diverse ways through which African philanthropy manifests itself. It will help to boost confidence of African CSOs in the possibilities and opportunities African philanthropy presents as a bona fide avenue to resource efforts to address humanitarian and development challenges on the continent. This will help to debunk myths that Africans cannot contribute to address the myriad of challenges plaguing the continent while providing evidence on feasible approaches to mobilize resources in Africa to address African problems.

Day 3: Unblocking the challenges and finding new pathways to promote African philanthropy within the aid system
This session will build on finding ways to enhance the collaborative efforts of external support to home groom contributions.
Later in the session, there will be two successive breakout rooms for participants to share recommendations on actions local organizations and international actors need to create for African philanthropy to be seen and dignify in the aid system.
