ABCD Unconference

Hosted by global asset and strengths-based practitioners from around the world, with over 24 hours of rolling time events, this virtual (un)Conference will engage global groups with all levels of formal and informal experience to hold space and facilitate conversations about the questions that have been keeping you up at night about assets and strengths-based action.

A unique and transformative gathering, bringing together like-minded people around large-scale conversations that matter to support the emergence of social innovation and transformation!

Aims of conference

The Unconference aims to provide an energetic and transformative teaching and learning space for people to:

  • Discover new ways of working
  • Develop future networks
  • Practice new learnings
  • Deepen practice
  • Turn ideas into positive action

Individuals will have the opportunity to learn from national and international leaders, who have a deep understanding of participant-driven philosophies and practices.

Shared commitment

The conference commits to provide participants with a range of new skills, connections skills and ideas through:

  • Storytelling – providing practical examples of a range of inclusive, contemporary models of practice in community
  • Connecting – providing opportunities for connecting with like-minded people
  • Enabling – providing spaces for skill development and generating ideas

Types of session

Inspire: Inspire through storytelling. Spark curiosity of participant lead outcomes, with interaction.

Participation: for 60 mins session consider including an opportunity for connection

Time allocation: 30mins or 60mins (inclusive of Q&A)

Innovate: Encourage skills development by sharing a practical example of an innovative and applied approach, whilst explaining tools and techniques used.

Participation: considering including a breakout activity for connection and discussion

Time allocation: 60mins or 90mins

Initiate: Bringing together like-minded people around large-scale conversations that matter to support the emergence of social innovation and transformation.

Participation: considering including a breakout activity for connection and brainstorming

Time allocation: 90mins or 120mins (longer session may be considered on application)

Registartion to Host

Registration to host and facilitate a session during the upcoming online (un)Conference is now open (August 1st-15th).

Event Timing:

Starting Tuesday 21st September (US Time) & Wednesday 22nd September (AU/NZ Time)

A support package will be designed based on your experience, whether you’ve had lots of experience or this is your first time, you will be matched with an Unconference buddy, content support, and tech support. The support network will work with you and may include a practice session.
