Shortly after the pandemic, film maker Josie Fomé travelled to Uganda to shoot a documentary on the organisation, No-White-Saviours. While there, a different, more complex story emerged on The Rise of Local Philanthropy (2022). The documentary explores how local nonprofits in Kampala, Uganda responded at the height of the pandemic when international aid organizations flew out their foreign staff and closed their office doors.
